Upper Cervical
Delving into the Nuances of the Upper Cervical Spine:
Navigating the Vital Axis of Neurological Harmony

Chiropractic adjustments are not just about the loud "cracking" sounds you might see on TV. They mainly focus on a very important part of your spine called the "Upper Cervical" area.
This part is at the top of your spine and includes the occiput, C1, and C2 vertebrae. It's important because it lets you nod, turn, and tilt your head. This area is packed with nerve cells and sensors, making it key for sending signals to and from your brain.
The upper cervical spine is also where your brainstem is. The brainstem is like a main control center for your body.
If these bones aren't lined up right (which we call subluxations), it can block these signals. This can cause problems like stomach issues and digestion problems.
When a chiropractor finds subluxations, they gently fix them. During this, you'll lie on your side and they'll apply a light pressure to your neck. Don't worry, there's no twisting or loud pops.
Think of your nervous system like the string in a game of "telephone."
In the game, a tight string makes the message clear. Similarly, a healthy nervous system sends clear messages between your brain and body. If there's a problem, it's like having a loose string – the message won't be clear.
After the adjustment, you might walk around or rest to help your body adjust. Then, the chiropractor will check again to make sure everything is right. This method is made just for you, to help your brain and body work together better.
